HouseofBrews The Bar portion of House of Brews is located upstairs, downstairs is the coffee shop bistro portion. Large back porch is typically quieter Olivia's (formerly Bobby G's) next to the Off Campus Bookstore off 72 near UAH. game. Takes Takes up half the room, and fun. Off University near the Madison Mall in HH Greg shopping complex. The clay pot dishes here are particularly good. Saigon (in Madison off Hwy 20 behind Golden Rule BBQ) Food is very comparable to Viet Hong, prices are about 1-2 dollars cheaper. While Pho portions are available in the same quantities at Viet Hong, Saigon also has 1 portion size smaller (and cheaper). Well worth the trip, the restaurant is slammed weekdays at 12:00 and seating is sparse. It usually lets up around 12:45. If it's your first time, be warned the double big daddy is not like a double whopper, you're talking about a big ol' burger. Most heavy eaters would be content with a single Big Daddy. Dog Friendly Parks There is actually a "dog park" in 5 pts under 565 by Pratt. Go by Olde Towne Coffee and people should be able to tell you how to get there. ~Reference Link The state park is great! Absolutely bring your dog. :) I might also recommend the numerous trails of the Land Trust. Start with the back side of the mountain, the parking lot is on your right as you go up Pratt Ave/Toll Gate. And you can take your dog there too. :) ~Reference Link I agree with the state park and Land Trust recommendation. There is a sidewalk up Bankhead Parkway that extends at least to across the street from the trailhead for Wagon and Tollgate trails, so you can walk your dog up there. The Land Trust and state park trails connect, so you call walk all the way to the bottom of the east side of the mountain. Does your dog have a particular critter/prey preference to see?
